I chased reasonably locally in Moore County in North Carolina from 6-8pm EDT as clusters of thunderstorms developed and moved East-Northeastward through the area. These storms were responsible for flash flooding leading to several road closures just to the NW of my location. I was just outside of West End, NC on Carthage Rd. There were no reports of wind damage but I am sure a wet microburst could have easily occurred close by. No reports would not be a surprise in such rural area. Personally I captured some solid structure with a well developed shelf cloud. The following are some photos I took (Note: The distant storm shot at sunset are of cells 50-60 miles to my east on the coastal plain).
Next time I will try to use a better ISO setting with longer exposure time and a tripod to get more crisp shots as these were taken right as the sun set.
