I wonder if the driver who was killed even had any inkling that a tornado was occurring. I just wonder about the details but I guess not seeing it until it's too late is the easiest explanation.

NWS is calling it an EF3 but said they would do a more detailed survey on the weekend to see if it was a stronger tornado. For North Dakota that is still an impressive tornado.

It appears at least 1/4 to a 1/2 mile-wide but is only listed as 400 yds wide. Defenitely seems to take on the shape of a wedge tornado.

The tornado in Bowbell, ND will remain as an upper-end EF3 on the EF-scale. That is still a pretty strong tornado.

440 yards = 1/4 mile. Pretty close.
