Significant Wind damage just west of Omaha Metro (Saunders Co), roads littered with debris many large branches down and a few pretty large trees snapped.

EDIT: Just came across house with shingles missing and flapping, also Corn in this area appears to be toast.

Very strong line of storms moving into Iowa with winds 60-70 MPH. I have seen alot of descent outbreaks get very little attention. Not sure why. Had storms Friday in the same area with 60+ MPH winds and large hail and then Saturday ND I think it was had some tornadoes and winds 60-70+MPH and large hail. Seems conditions are favorable for severe storms in the northern plains the last few weeks.

Anyone see a potential for the winds to increas past 70 MPH? Should be alot of damage reports.

I watched it from outside, under a metal canopy picnic thing, on the top of a big hill in town. Next time I do that I'm damn sure not wearing a tanktop. It was rather cold. Winds were surely over 60, maybe 70 at times, but don't think they got that high many times. It was ok. Saw one tree snapped in half in town on the way back, and another dropping small branches in the street just ahead of my car. I'm thinking the mammatus behind this could be sweet looking soon.

Most all reports are around 60(though estimated). Saunders one had a 68 mph gust reported.

Still driving around on some country roads somewhere between Ashland and Yutan, wondering if there wasn't a Microburst in this area as many of the roads are blocked with tree limbes >8 inches in Diameter, even seen a large tree that was uprooted. Who do you call about loose cows? Couple of cows wondering down this road, in fact they're walking up to my window right now!!

Just got back from Schuyler and Snyder NE , couple of trees uprooted in Snyder, lots of smaller branches down, i removed a few from the road since people are idiots and just like to drive over the bigger branches( EDIT( a bar sign was knocked over, a steel sign, didnt really feel to heavy but it blew a little foot or so from where it was at.... also the farmers will be happy ... they will have less corn to pick this harvest, alot of corn flopped on its side, though not broke, it looks like straight line winds were there or just wind itself, also got gravel blasted , really hurts....

I'm quite impressed by the preformance of the 4km WRF, just check last nights run and then compare it to todays radar loop, it nailed storm initiation, placement, storm mode, and timing; if it were only always that trustworthy.

A bit off topic... but I'm not sure that is something farmers would be very happy about...

You misunderstood what i said", i was being sarcastic, and it isnt off topic, corn was destroyed, thus that ties in with farmers because its damage to what they own"
