Stepped outside my office in Leavenworth and, after waiting for things to stabilize some, my Kestrel was showing dewpoint in mid-70s. Came back in maybe 10 minutes later and a whole bunch of stuff had popped up on radar SW of KC metro area (previously it had just been showing the line from SW to NE between Leavenworth and Atchison).

Reminder for chasers in the area: Hwy 45 between I-435 and Hwy 92 on the MO side of the Missouri river (across from Leavenworth/Lansing) is closed. So if you're trying to get quickly over to K-7 north towards Atchison from I-435 you'd need to go up to I-29 to Platte City to get Hwy 92, or go down, I guess, to Leavenworth Road or I-70.

Rapid thunderstorm development on north side of Wichita. In 15 minutes it went from TCU to 50+ dbZ (photo).

UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning northern Sedgwick Co. on cell just north of ICT. Moving ENE.

Other cluster of rapid development from Topeka to Olathe.

You're right Mike. Hearing thunder in Overland Park right now. 40 minutes ago there was nothing on radar, and now looks like these are approaching severe limits along the I-35 corridor from the SW corner of I-435 loop down to Ottawa KS. Could get interesting real quick.

light rainfall across Lawrence in the last 20-30 min. Curious how the remaining convection behaves all along the KS turnpike.

The storm that was just Tornado Warned in Eastern Kansas is showing a very nice cuplet. Would not be surprised if there is one on the ground just based on the radar rotation.
