Had a few severe thunderstorms move through southeast Virginia on Thursday afternoon. The line developed north of here along the peninsula and dropped into the area with the cell sort of splitting off. As it moved into Portsmouth, we had a very strong downdraft or small microburst with a peak wind gust on my vehicle to 66mph. I just turned the video camera around in time to catch part of a sheet metal roof on some apartment complexes across the street being blown off. The link is below. No one hurt, but there was some damage either by the debris or the small dime to nickle sized hail. The debris bust one vehicle's side window.
