Just talked to Reed Timmer: he has seen 2 long-track, large, and violent tornadoes in Southwestern Manitoba! He told me he got very close to a large violent stovepipe and couldn't open his car door, because of the strong winds around the tornadic circulation!

The storm sure presents itself very nice on the base Minot radar. One of the best looking hooks I've seen this year. For a moment earlier in the evening it looked like the area further east toward the MN/ND/MB was also gonna explode based on visible tcu from my location but was not to be. Supercell composite still in the 40-50 range where the monster cells are.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me... one of these daaaaays.

No indication these storms should really decline any as they cross into the US. Effective srh is only 500-600, effective shear of 60 kt overlaying sbcape of 7000 j/kg. Um, yeah. Figures, in Canada the cap can weaken in an instability bullseye like that, but down here? Nope.

Update: 10:05 PM

I talked to a person in the town of Boissevain MB she said the electric was out and all of the towns fire trucks were heading north from town. Sound like damage in the area.
