SPC has a slight risk and 5% tornado for most of central Kansas.

Currently it is raining over much of the area, but we can get a clear period after noon, the airmass should recover.

I'm a little surprised that SPC didn't reduce the size of their 5% area and shift it a little further south at 1630. I'm really not liking the redevelopment of precip in the ok.panhandle. it appears that the clearing occurs in far southern harper/sumner/cowley cos. into nc ok.--that might be the play today--assuming that the cloud debris from ok.panhndle activity doesn't screw it all up. really don't see a lot of airmass recovery north of highway 54 anymore due to rain shield persisting into the noon hour.

MD for ks/ok

spc has issued an md for the ks/ok border areas. I'm new at this gonna give it a try. The RUC at 19z shows cape at 3000 on the ks/ok border south of ict. Low to mid 70s dp, some veering in the low level winds 850 and 950mb should allow for a few good cells to fire up if the warm from doesn't move to far north. I'm headed down from ict on I35 south to south haven to monitor and adjust from there.
