I headed west a few miles from my home in Mound, MN to intercept a beautiful right moving supercell. Just as I stopped under the base near the quarter sized hail falling (north of Waconia), a rapidly rotating funnel descended above me for a couple minutes. The LCL was quite high and the funnel did not descend far but it was fun to see!

What a fun neighborhood chase!

Best part was while shooting video for Fox of people hiding from the hail under I35 in Faribault MN was watching some guy in a black BMW come unglued. Guess the ping pong ball sized hail wasn't helping the value of his car or something. First class anger management candidate for sure.
 
I watched helpless from my office as two large supercells fired North and Northwest of the Metro Twin Cities, around quiting time I hopped in my car for a local chase heading for the NW cell that had just split. Full details here.
