• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

6/10/09 NOW : OK/KS/MO/TX/CO

SWODY1 drops tornado prob to 2%, then five minutes later a TOR watch is issued?

tornado warning and tornado spotted

Riding in from Overland Park, KS I heard on the radio there is Tornado warning in MO with a tornado on the ground and going back up spotted near Schell City , Mo heading east.

It was said to be chewing up the ground.

Russell Parsons just reported twice via Spotter Network (2247-2255z) that the tornado near Schnell City is causing damage. This storm seemed to root along the warm front almost immediately as it went up ahead of the main line. I can't imagine it lasting much longer with new convection firing further to its east, choking off any inflow here shortly.

Intense line in Parker/wise co TX. Looks like an embedded tornado in the leading edge of the line..hook visible. Velocity scan show winds over 80knots.
Looks like a ton of very large hail too.

Just talked to Brandon Sullivan who reported the first tornado on SN on the Missouri cell and he said it was a cone tornado with a good rope out. I agree with Dick though they won't last long with that line developing in front of them.

What in the world is SGF issuing tornado warnings on now? I realize one or two legit tornadoes were reported earlier, but now they're issuing a TOR on every area of precip that reaches 50 DBZ. It doesn't seem like a big wind event either that might warrant a tornado warning, a lot of these cells hardly warrant a SVR. It's certainly got me scratching my head.

Tornado still on the ground just south of Denton, Tx. There has been a nice embeded inflow notch on the leading edge of that system for quite a while now.

a very impressive bow echo is now plowing through the dallas/ft worth metroplex. there's a tornado warning for the front edge for brief spinups with the most recent report of a weakening tornado near haslet, tx. 80+ winds and golf ball sized hail is likely:eek:

I just got home about half an hour ago and was wondering the same thing.
On the other hand, there is a very powerful looking bow echo bearing down on Oshkosh, NE. I'm also watching the bow moving through SE OK. Very high winds reported on the north side (near Vian) and also touchdowns.

Just got out of sheltering in our bathroom here in Flower Mound...I did see what looked like a wall cloud and rotation close to the ground before I quickly shuffled the wife and kids into the bathroom....Couldn't see from our house if it had touched down due to the neighborhood trees, but there was definitely a low spinning area passing just to my north.

Very curious as to why there wasn't a tornado watch in the Denver area on up to southern Wyoming. TOR warnings continue on the CO/WY border.
