• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Add Kansas to this thread.....

Somewehat a sleeper setup in western Kansas today. Already some action in west central Kansas NW of Garden City..

AT 224 PM CDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A TORNADO 6 MILES
SOUTH OF SELKIRK...MOVING EAST AT 10 MPH.

Storm was barely 45 dbz at the time. Must be an LP which would make the radar signature less. Most likey since dewpoints are in the low 50's at best.

A number of chasers heading that way but not there quite yet.

Talked to Michael Carlson enroute to Larkin about 20 minutes ago, but at this point, it looks too late. Spotters reported a couple of tornadoes with this cell in the area. Storm is currently severe-warned and doesn't have the couplet it had earlier.

Well Tony it is looking nice in GR3 right now and moving into MUCH better air and CAPE. Also talked to Michael Carlson about five minutes ago and he was heading north out of Lakin and said he was seeing an incredible tower above the base. I think as it moves ESE VERY slowly the bases may lower and we could see a few more naders.

Edit: TVS now on that cell SW of Scott City, KS. Tornado-warning!!

Wow, the cell in Wichita county Kansas has two couplets. Looks like the first meso is occluding and a new one has formed to the east.

There was another cell earlier today south of Limon that has a decent couplet and TVSs at various times.

Geeze, north of Tribune, everything kinda clumped together into a massive hooked out supercell - tornado warned.

Goodland is issuing tornado warnings right now.Looks like west central Kansas right now may be the first extremely photogenic tornadoes of the year. Will see if the visual reports verify. But storm motion is really slow, cloud bases are high, if there are tornadoes they are going to be very photogenic and easy to chase in great chase country. I wish I was up there right now.

The Sharon Springs storm is looking REALLY good right now... wow, what a surprise day in western Kansas... ugh.. the day before my vacation starts... never fails! LOL

Both storms with hooks at last look, the northern one with a mean looking hook. She's probably producing, but most chasers down south right now. Be anxious to hear reports out of that cell.

The storm east of Sharon Springs just blew up and now there's a very defined couplet and hook on grlevel3. Looks like there was some boundary collisions there.

Been watching this storm, on radar, for awhile now. It's gotta be a high based LP since it shows up on radar very poorly. According the spc report page, the tornado was "confirmed" based on the very detailed time reports.

Its too bad that no one is on the storm just ESE of Wallace, KS right now. The cell just crossed the boundary and almost instantly spun up a strong area of rotation and got a nice hook/appendage. GR2Analyst MDA was up to a yellow TVS for a scan. I would say that there is a decent probability of a touchdown occurring here soon.

I'm looking at the storms in western Kansas and wishing that I hadn't had my final high school band concert tonight... otherwise I was planning heading out today with an initial target of Tribune. I would have been perfectly situated. Aargh! Oh well, cest la vie...
