5/22/10 NOW: NE / SD / NE

that is a monster wedge. Just by looking at the outer cloud bands rotating around it you can easily tell this is EF4-5 material. That is amazing. I can't believe I'm not chasing.

thanks for the link guys, just saw it, it's HUGE!! god i wish i would have gone now..... looks like it'll pass just north of bowdle maybe?!

I sure hope it goes north of Bowdle. North of there it looks to be a few farmsteads. I hope they're taking cover!

That storm is an absolute beast. This has a great chance of being the storm of the year. When you get a huge rain free ragged updraft base like that you know its on. This storm has an amazing radar signature. This could be an extremely dangerous storm over the next couple hours.

At one point, before it had picked up a bunch of dirt and debris, the rotation in the meso was as fast as a lot of tornadoes, and there was a fully condensed wall/cylinder beneath the meso that looked 1/2 mile wide on Marcus Hicks camera. One of the most impressive tornado videos I've seen!

The rotation is going to come very close to the town of Hosmer. I can't get a good stream right now, but the storm looked like it was ramping back up last time I saw it.

I just saw a wide view of the updraft. It has amazing striated structure. I can't wait to see the pictures and video from this beast. I will never forgive myself for not chasing today.

Is it okay to post screen grabs here from a chasers feed? I took one of Skips feeds but don't want to break any rules by posting it...

Crazy storm... I've lost count of the tornadoes I've seen streamed, and the thing is just getting going. I've never seen so many funnels and wall clouds being produced at such a rapid rate, from all portions of the updraft base... It's almost like the storm is throwing out areas of rotation all over the place just to see what sticks! Definitely a candidate for storm of the year.
