Wish I had the time to post this sooner, but what a cool storm on the border.

We started out in Hamilton TX after playing the dryline stuff west of Waco the previous day. We (Patrick Cool and myself) were debating chasing or heading straight to Kentucky to visit friends but we finally decided to play our cards SW of San Antonio. As it turns out, the RUC had painted a weak point in the cap and showed initiation, but sfc obs were drier than the model data. As it turns out the RUC was correct, it had just painted everything a little too far east, but things went off like clock work and we intercepted a nice classic supercell with some LP and HP attributes near Eagle Pass. Not a bad storm, just wish I had taken more lightning shots, and the 4+ inch hail outside of the vault was not as scary. Don't get me wrong, hail is cool, just not when you have a brand new HD camera which is not paid off yet har har.

What a treat to drive up to this. There were only two other chasers showing up on spotter network, so the feeling of being alone for once was great in a way.
