5/10/10 NOW: KS, OK, TX

Not sure why we are not getting more confirmed touchdowns today. Just looking at the meso page, one thing I just noticed is that there appears to be a secondary warmfront that has developed along the red river arcing back to Clinton where it intersects the dryline. Winds south of this boundary are from 190 and temps are in the upper 80's to low 90's. I am not sure how this feature might impact today's activity but it is something to be aware of.

The lastest mesoscale cross over winds are showing improving directional shear in the near storm environment over far northern OK and southern KS. Also LI's -12 over Vance AFB.

Mike Phelps of CTV is streaming the cell west of Medford. On stream can be heard noting a multi-vortex tornado directly behind them on the road moving east along the road rapidly. A long line of chasers on this storm and potentially in the path. He is calling the tornado in to NWS at this time.

A debris cloud shows up on Vance RADAR at 2045Z (3:45 pm local) and Wichita shows a bowling ball on the end of the hook. These images are 5 min old at best, even at the RADAR site, so extreme caution is advised with fast moving storms.

RE the sfc chart: Secondary boundary near the Red River left over from morning cloud line. Primary synoptic WF farther north, with the dangerous sups, still the focus due to backed winds.
