Jay Pratter KAKE 10 just mentioned a possible tornado NE of Mattfield Green, KS. Im not sure if that is confirmed or not but he said it.

Looks like we have an embedded supercell forming NE of Wichita (TVS, Hook on reflectivity). The storm is only SVR warned as of now.

Good eye. That storm is now Tornado warned.

Pretty impressive squall line developing. I will be watching the area to the west of St. Joseph. Storms should begin to fill in that area and I may stay up late enough to do some local spotting, we will see. Embedded supercells will be a definite possibility anywhere in this line.

*Edit - I'm keeping a close eye on the isolated (for the moment) cell south of Falls City, NE. If it can stay isolated it may have a chance in gaining some rotation.

wow that cell southwest of Emporia KS has some great rotation on it... Does anyone know if there are still reports of a tornado on the ground?

That low level couplet is looking at least 50kt gtg shear

There is a noticable break in the squall line along the KS/OK border. This could help in the development of some semi discrete storms in S. Cent. KS

Storm in extreme NE KS now is severe warned and looks like it has some supercellular characteristics... I might be headed out the door to check it out, at least get some lightning shots maybe.

confirmed damage to tree poles and houses in northern Greenwood County KS

EDIT: also reports of outbuildings destroyed... no injuries as of yet

Squall line is now moving through OKC metro. The lightning with this thing is incredible. Each flash is followed by some thunder that keeps shaking my house every time. Had some small hail but it looks like some more is on the way.

Edit: Received 8 minutes of nickel to quarter size hail in S. OKC

Whoa ... KC is having the most intense bow echo I can ever remember. Hurricane force winds outside. The trees are all bent over on their side and there is this loud rumble of wind ... it is hard to believe. Downtown is right at the leading apex of the bow. This is going to be much more damaging than the supercells earlier. This is the first I remember seeing such strong areas of rotation along the leading edge of a bow echo in GRLevel3.

I agree with Mike. I have never seen anything like what is moving through the KC Metro right now. Derecho anyone?

The wind is just intense and the continuous thunder and lightning is really amazing. I'm glad the kids are still asleep. They would be terrified.

KCI had a gust to 57kts. I'm at work about 3 miles south of there and am not surprised based on a look out the window when the apex of the bow passed just to our south. Serious tree damage reported in Gladstone. These events are always fun for those of us who own homes in a heavily treed neighborhood. Guess I'll find out the extent of the damage when I get home after work later this morning.

EDIT: in Gladstone MO per EAX LSR... "FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDING TO REPORTS OF SEVERE HOUSE DAMAGE AND ROOFS REMOVED FROM HOUSES."

and in Independence MO... "TREES THROUGH WINDOWS OF HOUSES."
