4-7-08 NOW: OK/TX

Amazing hook signature on radar at this time for the beast of a supercell immediately north of the town of Electra. I've been watching Steve Miller's live streaming video via the Severe Studios website. It appears he is under the rain free base at this time.

As well defined as that persistent hook echo is on this storm I find it difficult to believe that there hasn't been at least one touchdown over the last 20 minutes or so. I'm not familiar with that area...is it sparsely populated?

Grlevel3 is currently indicating 3 separate areas of rotation all with moderate g2g shear. I hope people in the town of Electra are taking cover right now.

Radar doesn't tell whole story... Watch the video - strongly rotating wall cloud.

Wichita Falls is in serious trouble right now. After right turning that thing is heading right down the highway. I got a feeling this thing is going to be a cyclic tornadic supercell and there is nothing standing in the way of some strong tornadoes. All I can say is KU better win tonight or I'll kill myself for skipping out on this.

Think the video tells a pretty good story unless my eyes are deceiving me...Nice truncated cone tube a few seconds ago on Steve Miller's cam

Well if it makes you feel any better, I skipped out on chasing today for an evening class that was cancelled at noon today. Figured I'd be a good student seeing as I missed last week for chasing and I'd be out Wednesday, so I share your pain.

Storm looks as if its making a line for Wichita Falls. Definitely a long-track supercell ongoing. Anyone still sitting quietly up north? :D

Getting rain-wrapped so hard to pick out details, still not seeing signs of multi-vortex though.

The tornadic meso took a Greensburg-esque left turn while occluding just west of Haynesville. This storm certainly has the possibility to be very long-lived and hopefully will pass to the north of Wichita Falls.
