4/4/10 REPORTS: OK/MO/IL

I joined in late on this chase. I basically just decided to do an after dark intercept on Hwy 61 about 2 miles south of Eolia. My goal that evening was to avoid the monster hail that was being detected on radar and hopefully be able to see some structure. At the time it crossed 61 it had a nice appendage on radar. Most of the lightning was well ahead of the area of interest, so I was very limited in what I could see. I have some family north of the Eolia area and they received a lot of hail damage.

Brad Goddard and I were just ESE of Adam, filming the same storm. However, we exited at Macon, MO and traveled to Moberly, and then went WSW towards Salisbury, so we came from a slightly different angle. I didn't type up anything elaborate, as I think Adam covered the bases very well, though I did post a small video clip on our website (apologies for a few slips of a profane tongue): http://convectiveaddiction.com/2010/04/07/1287/

I was originally a little skeptical as to whether or not the initial tornado reports were accurate, because as in the case of David and Adam, we did not see a verifiable touchdown. When the touchdowns were being reported near Mexico, MO after nightfall, we were also never able to verify anything as far as power flashes, damage, etc. goes, but you can see a nice lowering several miles off to our NNE in last portion of the video if you look carefully during the lightning flashes.
