I was working on a GIS project on campus and decided to go home because I was going to go out and take photos of the storms around here. When I was walking in the front door I almost got ran over by Doug because he was running out the door to get on the tornado warned storm after he saw a funnel about half way to the ground south of Lawrence. Needless to say we tried to get south and east as quickly as possible but every storm weakened as we got a view of the base so we decided to call it a day after about 30 mins. of chasing. Watch out....the atmosphere is throwing curveballs at people's groins today.

Started out from Overland Park a bit late and paid for it dearly with a wall of traffic that kept me from getting south to Pleasanton fast enough. Turned around and headed on home. Saw some interesting structure in Miami Co. but it appeared that it was not the beefier type of supercells that were further south. Right before I left work at 5pm, had a good round of 1/2-3/4" hail in Lenexa.

Pretty much the same deal as Darin except we got a really low funnel that was rotating pretty slowly, but it was in fact rotating. Other than that all the storms weakened as we got to them. Driving home now on US71 near Nevada, MO.
