Don't look now, but the Lamesa storm is REALLY getting its act together again. David looks to be in a good location -

Edit - that thing is really hooking up nicely on radar. Great looking supercell.

On the first page of today's forecast thread, several folks were talking about the weird cyclonic feature being depicted in a few of the models, raising the question of a derecho event or something similar. I find the location and presentation of this mess around Abilene to be quite interesting, in that respect.

Wish we could get our feed back on the Lamesa storm, because it has gone through another strengthening cycle. Indicating TVS on radar.

Edit - looks like he's back on the air. This storm has nothing but clean inflow to work with ... nothing around it ...

Nobody seems to noticed the two tornado warned cells in Colorado and the one in Central Nebraska. There is one cell south of Wray that is tor-warned with a nice shape to it and decent couplet. It looks like a few chasers are on it and looks to be moving in a better enviornment. The one south of that near Kit Carson is looking a bit weaker, but still better than the heavy rain grunge then what I am seeing at my house right now.

EDIT: cell near Kit Carson had tornado warning dropped.

Wow, just turned it back on and he (Drummond) is in the middle of a dust storm. Before that there was a glimpse of the storm which looked incredible.

Yeah, when they come back in, the views have been totally incredible. You're right ... the dust storm was mind-blowing. The structure is amazing on that storm right now.

Just as a side note ... David does have a donation option on his site. We've enjoyed this so much this afternoon that pitching in a couple bucks for gas really wouldn't be a bad thing (even though I know we're all saving up for that ourselves at this point).

EDIT - check out the inflow band coming into this beast. High degree of organization right now -

Strange looking supercell 30 mi west of Ft. Worth with very strong rotation. Not sure if GR2AE is dealiasing properly, but there was an area of 171 kt gate to gate shear on the 23:47z scan.

EDIT: Tornado reported at 6:59 4mi W of Lipan, that circulation appears to have occluded into the storm and a new meso formed and strengthened. As of 7:16, new circulation was 5 miles east of Lipan and showing 130+kt g2g shear. Very dangerous storm, hopefully it'll pass south of the metroplex.

I just noticed a storm report from near Mena, AR:

Lightning struck a natural gas line...causing an explosion. 3 homes had to be evacuated.

For that cell in Hood County...from CBS 11: "Erath County Sheriff's deputies are reporting significant damage on Highway 1188 near Morgan Mill."

Really nice radar presentation now...I think it cycled and it's about ready to get going again.

Craig Maire is reporting large hail and damaging winds near DFW, and has seen a few possible tornadoes. The storm near him has a nice hook, and is heading toward the DFW area.

I'm not so sure as to why this TOR was allowed to expire near Fort Worth, unless my GRL3 is tossing up some more phantom rotation.
