4/18/09 NOW: KS/OK/TX

Looks like Alva, OK storm is recycling right over them. The original area of rotation that was tornado warned has occluded and it very much looks like the new meso has formed right over Alva or just barely east of there. Could be an embedded HP beast in that cell from how the velocites are looking at this point. Quite the wrapped up storm.

East of Alva, almost to Ingersoll. Have a rough looking wall cloud just north of the highway drifting slowly NNE. It tried to get its act together a couple times but no tube. Still good inflow so trying to stay on it w/o getting munched by the squall that is about to overtake it.

Lost internet earlier, the cell went outflow dominant about 5:17 or so, still probably dropping some monster hail around Byron.

That sure was a nice looking cell! That and the storms up around DDC would have been a great day! See a couple tornadoes, be home in time for dinner!

Gate-to-gate shear on that cell near Alva was crazy. I wonder if no tornado happened, it was probably one of those 'Meso on the ground' kind of things where there could be some RFD damage.

Linear convection from western OK that earlier almost looked pathetic as it weakened has now gotten a caffeine jolt with several OK counties, including Tulsa metro, under severe thunderstorm warnings. Marginally severe, but I'm impressed with how quickly they regained strength.
