I know the GFS I'm looking at is still a bit more than a week out, but the 570 mb trough cutting through central TX next Friday looks like it could be a sweet setup.

Nice moist axis running NNW through TX/OK, showing SBCAPE values 2500 j/kg. Winds aloft look to be supportive of decent shear values and some nice size supercells, with a nice 90 kt jet streak howling in from the west.

These models lack a lot of skill this far out, but if this one verifies it could be a decent setup.

Yeah I saw that this morning. That system sure does kick through quick. Hopefully it will slow down a bit otherwise the tornado threat seems like it would be limited as the primary mode would be screaming linear.
