I can't think of a better place for my first storm of the season than the mighty Texas caprock. I came out for Saturday's setup, but thought as long as I was here , I'd see what the dryline could stir up. Turned out that small storms fired along the surface trough in the western and northwestern panhandle. This storm flared past the setting sun in Hartley County, northwest of Amarillo, about 7:00 PM CST. This cell earned a severe warning as it approached Dumas, but weakened quickly after dark.
