Potential is there for some severe storms, including at least marginal supercells, in eastern NM and the western part of the TX Panhandle tomorrow. CAPE looks to be in the 1000-1500 range, with relatively weak wind fields but some directional shear. Unlike the next couple days, models have been pretty consistent about breaking out storms somewhere in the western or northwestern TX Panhandle and parts of eastern NM. This is not by any means a high-end event, but for people like me heading east for a few days of chasing next week, I think it offers an opportunity for some potentially photogenic storms. Tornado potential is low, but I still think there could be some photogenic storms with potential for supercells, so well worth leaving in time for if you are heading to the plains from somewhere in the Southwest.
