Had what I would consider a "rare event", here just outside of Omaha yesterday. First off a cold front moved through a very unstable, but weakly sheared environment and popped some non supercell thunderstorms. A brief tornado touched down southwest of Omaha near Ashland around 445, and then at about 530 a separate storm dropped a long skinny tornado just to the southeast of Omaha on the southern side of Council Bluffs, IA. This landspout tornado dropped down right on Lake Manawa and stayed almost completely stationary for 15 minutes right in the middle of the lake. Therefore we had a waterspout in Iowa! I've attached a couple of video and pics links. No damage or injuries were reported.
