2015-06-11 REPORTS: CO, NE, IA, KS, MO, IL

So I wrote a really detailed report, but then my internet crashed and I don't feel like doing it again. So here is a summery and some pictures. Targeted NW Mo. Left home at 10:30am, picked up my cousin in KCMO and made it to St. Joe Mo. around 12:30. Waited around not sure about going west or north, then went west on 36 to Hiawatha Kansas, where we turned north to meet our first storm at Falls City Nebraska. Chased to about Maryville Mo. and then headed home when things got messy. Observed several wall clouds and rotations along the way but no tornadoes as my 2015 tornado draught continues...

I chased the southern cell in the northern TX Panhandle today. It stayed high based for the most part. I was playing tag with the hailcore the whole time. Got some hen egg sized hail in Gruver, TX. The funny part was how soft the stones were. It sounded almost like snowballs hitting my car. Further east, there were some baseball sized craters in the ground with pieces of stone will melting away. Then on the way back to Amarillo, I encountered a great nighttime shelf cloud. Not a bad somewhat local day.

I chased with Allison again and we targeted the NE/MO/IA area. We made it over to the cell that looked good for a while by Beatrice Nebraska and then headed for the cells coming up from NE KS to Mound City. We avoided the large hail around Oregon but never went back to pick some up. The first photo below is of the cell that went over Rosedale … large hail, rotation and some structure but no tornado for us. The second photo is the closest we got. I at least managed to avoid Iowa.
