While most people are complaining about this day, I'm liking what I see. Good easterly bulk shear around the order of 40 kts, decent CAPE values around 1500, dews in the mid to upper 50s, and most likely a big east-west outflow boundary between LBB and MAF. HRRR and 4km NAM break precip down in this area with impressive updraft helicity. Of course the HRRR likes to exaggerate everything, but even throttling back what that was saying means for a good chase. Just hoping the precip down there stops soon as there is already clearing behind it.

Any chasers on I-20 in TX note there is a large oil fire just south of the highway in Midland, likely to cause traffic delays
