2012 Chase Partner Thread

Houston calling here! Because of impending fuel prices, I'll be needing more than ever in my fourteen years of stormchasing, other stormchasers to share the costs (and glory) of chasing storms in a carpool from here and central Oklahoma (and farther places I'm hoping) now as springtime has sprung early. Call me at (281)650-3128 or e-mail me at [email protected] when you can. Talk to ya later!

I'm Sean Toner, looking to do some serious chasing this season. I'm located in Irving, TX, inside the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. I've got the vehicle and equipment, but no committed chase partner yet. Cost splitting on fuel, food, and possibly hotel if it comes to that, is all that I'd ask. Prior chasing experience is not a requirement either, just the patience to tolerate lots of driving! Sight-seeing on off-days is a definite possibility. I'll be available to chase most of this season.

PM or e-mail me [email protected]

I live in Wichita, KS. If you're looking for a partner, hit me up with a PM here.

Have chased solo for a 3 years now, but don't claim to be a meteorological expert. I want to learn, just need someone to learn from.
I am very much into photography, so I'm all about scoring some sweet shots while out chasing.

I chase in my little 2-door Honda Civic (laugh it up..). 3 years and I'm still alive. :)

On chases I carry:
Laptop
Android phone
Two Motorola walkie-talkies
DSLR + lenses (in camera backpack)
Tripod
Possibly will carry my new Glidecam gear this year (for stable video shots while walking)

Hi!

Myself and a friend from here will be touching down state-side April 30 and renting a car and driving towards the Great Plains from Los Angeles. Will chase pretty much everything until around June 12. Will attempt to make Norman a home base as have friends there we can stay cheaply with. We will have two seats spare so anyone is very welcome to join us on road trips of supercell-scoring. A week or two or three, it's up to you, we're flexible. Costs will be split on only gas and accomodation. Please get in contact.

PM me or my email is [email protected] or you can even skype me with the icon below my avatar.

Thanks!!

Hi all,

I too am looking for anyone interested in chasing near or around the Texas Panhandle this season. My primary limitations are that I am a graduate student in Amarillo, TX working on earning my PhD (which severely limits me to weekend chases or post-5pm chases if conditions look good). I have my own camera equipment, laptop with GRLevel3 & MS Streets and Trips (GPS), data plan (with tethering), and most importantly my TRD 4x4 Toyota Tacoma (4 passenger) which has come in handy on more than a few occasions. I chase relatively conservatively since my primary concern is always safety. I don't mind getting close to the main action of any storm; however, I prefer not to drive into hail cores (at least with my vehicle!) I typically chase solo and have never chased with a partner other than my wife. I would not mind sharing costs for chases either. If anyone is seriously interested please let me know. Best of luck to everyone this season and stay safe out there!

I am also a commercial pilot grew up in Oklahoma and am now more fascinated with weather than ever. As you know I also have flexibility in my schedule and would love to go storm chasing if you have an empty seat. Would like to learn from someone more experienced. I live in Georgia and can pretty much get anywhere by air in a very short amount of time. Email is [email protected]

Hi, I'm looking for anyone that wants to chase tomorrow. I live in Kansas City and am open to chasing either the northern zone in NE or the southern zone in SC Kansas - NC Oklahoma. If anyone has an extra seat, I can split all costs with the other passengers.

What are the odds that any of you on here are heading to iowa tomorrow from minnesota. I managed everything worked out tomorow so i could make this chase work but as it turns out i have no car this weekend. I fully intend to pay my full share and probably a little bit extra for allowing me to tag along.

Again i could use a partner today. although this time it is within range for me and i could chase on my own, i would much rather have somebody to split the costs with. I would like to chase souther MN today and can get myself there no problem if anybody is willing to meet me.

Hey everybody, I'm planning a chase trip beginning June 3rd... I'm going wherever the weather takes me.... Unfortunately I have to be home in Wisconsin no later than noon on Friday the 8th of June. I'm looking for somebody to help pitch in for expenses.... and help with driving chores. Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you're interested. Male or Female doesn't matter!

The thought of me missing out on the storms in my own home state of NE today cause im stuck in KS makes me so sick to my stomach (figuretivly) i could just throw up. Does anyone....ANYONE....who is driving up through C. KS wanna make a pit stop in Hutchinson and pick me up? Please????? Help a chaser out!

Are there any other stormchasers in the central Oklahoma and Kansas regions looking for someone to split costs for Saturday's upcoming chase? I am available and currently in Salina, Kansas, after yesterday's chase. My cell phone # is (281)650-3128 and my e-mail address is [email protected] if you are interested or available. Thanks!

I am very much the rookie to stormchasing, but am very motivated to learn...with that said, I know the 2012 chase season is in full swing, but due to work constraints and a broken right foot, I have been unable to participate in this years festivities! I am looking forward to 2013's season to be my first! I do some storm spotting for my local community, but would love to partner up with another chaser or two who wouldn't mind having a "green" chaser (who is also a paramedic) who wants to learn! Obviously, I would certainly split expenses for gas and hotel as well as pay for my own meals and find my own way to you. I can navigate fairly well, am not afraid of a little "excited driving", and can communicate well on a radio and am able to assist with it! Scheduling is flexible where I work, but need to plan ahead to ensure I have the days off I need to have...hence the reason I am starting to plan now! Have a laptop and a smartphone that I am planning to bring along. Please PM me!!

Stay safe!!

Lisa :D
