I'll be coming out the the plains from NC for the last 2 weeks in May 2012. So far, I'm driving out solo and will chase solo. I wouldn't mind 1-2 people to chase with and cost share if anyone is interested. If have some experience chasing, mostly jungle chasing...so it will be nice to actually have some good visibility. I chased the high risk on April 16th in eastern NC amd saw two tornadoes, and chased Alabama on April 27 and got the Tuscaloosa tornado.
I'm not wreckless and don't do "stupid" stuff......I take precautions when safety becomes an issue. I'm a strong believer in using common sense. However I don't mind getting close within reason, main factors are visibility, escape route, debris, etc. I enjoy hail......but don't plan to core punch baseball hail and larger in my vehicle. I don't care about dents, but don't want to lose windows and get my equipment soaked. I would enjoy seeing some large hail and getting some video if shelter can be found ahead of the core.
I'm not hard to get along with, don't mind smoking and listen to a wide variety of music. I take showers, and prefer to ride with somebody that does the same..... I don't mind driving long hrs. When I chased in Alabama, I left my house in Winston-Salem NC 4:30am on April 27, and pulled back into my driveway at 3:30am on April 28. 23 hours and 1,110 miles later with no stopping besides gas and chasing.
I have my own equipment, laptop, inverter, cameras, tripods and mounts, etc. as I usually chase solo. Hopefully you will have your own stuff as well, as I'm picky about my camera equipment.
I don't mind riders in my vehicle, and don't mind riding along with somebody else. I will pay my own way, and share cost regardless of the vehicle arrangements.
