FWIW, I wasn't really chasing but rather returning home from a road trip out west then decided to hole up a day and wait on this set up. Waited at Morton, TX for a while today then a few cells quickly developed near Lubbock ..

North of Lubbock and the same cell as photographed later from near below

SE Of Hale Center, TX. A little action trying to get started. Looked promising initially but it fell apart a bit later

A fantastic lightning show about 20 minutes before dark. A LOT of unobscured CG Lightning for a good while.
Lightning struck this windmill as I was making my camera adjustments and was hand-holding here and was fortunate to get this one

Got a lot of pics like this in just a few minutes

Left home around 5:30 am and hung around Plainview for a few hours upon arriving in the area. Decided I needed to drop south of Lubbock but then noticed storms developing just to the West. I turned around and paralleled the storms and got well ahead of the last storm in the line which became dominant and put down the tornadoes. I stopped and the storm organized as it approached my position. Wall cloud reached to near the ground and at one point had very organized rotation. Missed seeing the spinups beneath it however so I was unsure if I was looking at a tornado. Witnessed a very brief rope later on. Pics from the day:

I cropped and contrasted the picture of the rope below so the dust whirl would be more visible. This was several minutes later and not associated with the rotating wall cloud above.

I was amazed at the tilt on this updraft around dark as it started to weaken

Good day all,

A bit late on the log report as I was able to chase the west Texas stuff on Oct 12 after driving from Kansas City (arrived there from FL a day earlier)!

The Hale county supercell was intercepted and two tornadoes were witnessed with this storm. The tornadoes were small, with the latter being a multi vortex circulation under a large wall cloud.

A full chase log is available at the link HERE: http://www.sky-chaser.com/mwcl2012.htm#oct11
