I spent 5 days in ND last week and mostly saw junk. So yesterday I headed out from home at around 3:30 PM and a half hour later caught a tornado about 20 miles south of Holly CO. Typical stormchasing.

TYPICAL !

No Kidding. In 1998 I left MD and suffered thru JUNK in WV, VA, TN, AR, OK, KS, NE, IO, MN, SD only to miss the F5 at Spencer, SD by about 50 miles.
(If I'd only skipped dinner !!).

After driving the 1200 miles back home, the day after I got back I caught a tornado west of Pittsburgh, PA - 2.5 hours from home.

Two weeks later, I barely missed (due to traffic) a tornado less than a mile from my house - Extremely Rare in MD - Plus it was a NW-mover.

Didn't expect to chase, wish I hadn't. Started the day off in Amarillo (long story) and headed north in hopes to get storms in Western Kansas. Bummed when I saw Bob Schafer report the landspout near Campo (I hate that city)
