I'd be curious to see any radar of when the tornado was actually on the ground near George West. I couldn't see a couplet (or at least nothing looking too potent) on SRV when I was putting in the nowcast earlier, so I'm wondering if there was one later. Here's the official report that came later:

1930 5 ESE GEORGE WEST LIVE OAK TX 2830 9804 BRIEF TOUCH DOWN NEAR I-37 AND HWY 59...REPORT OF 18-WHEELER BLOWN OVER. (CRP)

* I bet there's going to be a lot of discussion over the warning delay with the later Cook county storm.

Just got home...

Started the night out not even planning to chase. There was a SKYWARN seminar here in sherman tonight, so I was attending it. I got a phone call from Jason that said, "there's a tornado on the ground in Muenster", so I hopped up and told the Sherman Fire Chief. About that time, all of the local Ham's jumped up and out the door everyone went. 45 minutes into the presentation.

We flew east to Gainesville and headed on a southwest track to keep from hitting the tornado head on. Saw a lot of rotation around Myra, but nothing that touched the ground.

From then on out, the whole thing was kind of a HP mess. The rotation was rain wrapped, it was dark, and it seemed there wasn't a ton of lightning. We ended up pulling off that storm and pushing fast back to Sherman where we encountered gorilla hail (Softball) and hail that covered the ground.

Not a bad night for not expecting to chase. Sure wish it was during the daylight though.
