The Delorme software is on a DVD. The laptop I am buying does not have a DVD drive. How do I get around this?

USB DVD drive. Or rip the DVD to an ISO file, throw the ISO on a USB thumbdrive, install off that.

I like using PowerISO: http://www.poweriso.com/
Put the DVD in your desktop computer, use PowerISO to make an ISO file out of the disc, and then copy it to your laptop and create a virtual disc drive on the laptop using PowerISO to install it.

Edit: Those ISO files are a good way to backup your installation media too, in case you lose or damage the original disc.
