204kt!! TVS on the storm tracking straight into Nashville now! 3.25" hail size likely as well.

The hook echo has had that persistent reflectivity ball for many scans now. It seems there is a nasty tornado there. I hope everyone in Nashville is taking this seriously.

I'm thinking that red TVS is just an artifact of the radar being so near to the storm, as well as the speed of the storms. Funnel clouds live on channel 5 nashville skycam over downtown. I doubt those 200kt shear readings on the radar. Looks like alot of noise because of the distance from the radar as well as the speed of the storm. The skycam shot showed some rotation, but it wasn't particularly intense and the funnel cloud was not near the ground at the time of its passing over downtown.

Reports from Union University in Jackson, TN, say that there are no serious injuries, but numerous less-serious injuries. Several dorms severely damaged, classes cancelled through Feb 15th.

The NWS Nashville is getting slammed right now. They've taken shelter, it is DIRECTLY OVERHEAD of the NWS office, it couldn't be more overhead. The sirens are shutting off in Nashville, thankfully. The Vanderbilt siren was clearly audible on the Vanderbilt SkyCam. This is what make WTVF #1 in Nashville, HD tv, and great camera network and more. It is heading towards Gallatin, not even 2 years before, the F-3 smashed parts of the city to pieces, God help Gallatin.

Any word on the other injuries and reports of fatalities in the town?

Check out the Fort Campbell, KY radar to see a much better radar image of the Nashville storm. Chaser "vriley" is shown as active on the chase monitor and is in the path of the supercell.

Please try and limit your page reloads to no more than 1 per minute or longer. The server is trying to choke from 232 people reloading this thread over and over. Waiting a little longer to reload would be preferable to the server crashing and it not being accessible at all.

Thanks.

Chaser "vriley" may have just had a large and dangerous tornado pass overhead...at least from the shear values that I just saw. Hope he gives a report and some pics or vids.

Looking higher up in the radar elevations, appears that the Nashville, TN, storm might be reorganizing. Broad rotation right now, but the storm is looking a bit more organized and bears watching. Green/yellow TVS in GR2Analyst.

Union University: 3 dorm halls are completely destroyed, and 1 deroofed. 7 still trapped there. The Nashville Predators Game has been let out now, so free to go home.

New lines of storms are firing off SE of Memphis.
