Just woke up here in Denver and happened to bring up SPC. WHAT! Twatch, I'm not sure if anyone is out chasing today but that would be to chase even though its bad terrain. The season is starting! Good Luck to all who chase if any.

Torando watch is up for parts of MS,LA and AL
Looks like we got a few thunderstorms starting to fire up in Alabama and Flordia. SPC is saying 50% prob of 2 or more tornados and 70% prob of hail/wind events. SPC showing a SLGT risk for area under the tornado watch.

It's poor terrain only due to it largely being pine and oak forested land, however, its also a heavily farmed area, so there are plenty of breaks in the woodlands, its not really that bad in this area. The terrain gently rolls, so you can get some good views every few miles, but the fields help best. IMO the Montgomery area has some very good terrain, flat, level, fielded river bottom lands and pastures. This is a typical winter time system, a handful of weak tornadoes, yet some good damaging wind potential, which is quite bad here. I've clocked winds well over 70mph, and as high as 98mph in some of these intense lines.

I was on the lone severe storm in Central Alabama that went through Coosa/Tallapoosa counties and encountered very heavy rainfall and witnessed a weak mid level meso that weakened shortly after reaching HWY-280. The storm gusted out and tried to get its act back together......the problem was it was pulling that cool gust front air back into it as inflow which didn't help at all. The rain mass across SE AL didn't help things either as storms had a hard time developing until the cold front was near.

I did however, get a meso/funnel on a non-severe warned storm on the Coosa/Talladega county line at 4:10pm yesterday.

Chasing here is not so bad.....I've done it many times and been successful about doing so as well. It's definitely not an easy task though.
