Navarro County, Texas Supercell

Here is a distant view of the supercell that produced the Rice, Texas tornado. I was about 70 miles northwest in the DFW area (Flower Mound). I was enjoying a cold adult beverage in my front yard after an afternoon of painting.....which is why the picture is from 70 miles away. Absolutely georgous.

Is there a more detailed account of Eric Meyer's intercept of that tornado? I saw it on a local CBS station (although I wonder if they paid for it...considering how they creatively covered the CNN and WFAA logo) and anchor made a comment about a storm chaser getting too close. I would like to hear/read the full account.

He is actually the Emergency Manager in Rice, TX. During his interviews he stated that he did not intend to get that close and will have a hard time preaching storm safety as an Emergency Manager after the stunt he pulled. He actually mentioned something about radar issues at their headquarters being the reason why he initially ventured out to get a closer look at what threats the storm posed. I guess it never dawned on him to back up :D

I couldn't dig up that specific interview but he appears at the end of this one (which confirms his Emergency Manager status).

Nice pic Wes! Love the view of a supercell with Halloween decorations in the foreground!
