10/2/07 NOW: IA / IL / MO / KS / OK

Iowa City getting nailed right now, nice little supercell with hook, unknown if any damage or anything was reported but it went right over the airport.

Should also add that we had damage in Des Moines, IA, today as well. An SUV was flipped over in downtown where there was also some powerline damage. On the south side of the city near the airport we had windows blown out of many cars. Looking at the Level2 data it appears that the damage areas might be associated with two weak mesovortices.

Damage reports are coming in on television in St. Louis from Marion Co. and Palmyra, Missouri. The reports are sounding fairly serious at this point. We'll likely have to wait till daylight to see the nature of the damage, but what I've heard doesn't sound too positive.

Just got off the phone with local media...nothing too significant in the Monroe City/Palmyra. However, there is damage. A side note...sounds like the same area that was hit in 2006 in Monroe City got hit again.
