Lost the butterfeild storm due to closed roads so we are head back towards benton county to get ahead of the cells that will be heading to my apartment, it is march 12th, 2006 all over again.

Funnel Coud spotted west side of Springlied by trained weather spotter. No tornado on the ground but wall cloud is being observed with rapid rotation and a persistant funnel. Every 45-60 minutes the these storms seem to cycle. Were about 20 min into the curent cycle. Reports coming from Scenic and Grand in W Springfile.

SPC now has 23 Tornado reports with several more definitely on the way. Checking my calendar is does indeed say January 7th. With the timing, etc. of the storms I sure hope people knew about these before they moved in :o

There has to be some kind of boundary near SGF......these storms get near SGF and just spin down like crazy. Develop hook like structure and drop tornadoes quickly.

2 Funnels now being reported by KTTS spotter with the wall cloud located Ne of Scenic and Grand in Springfield. Reports coming in that a school was hit on the south side of Republic, Mo. There was a kindergarden basketball game going on but there are no injuries being reported from that location. +2 3/4 in hail being reported W side of Springfield. Tornado North of Stradford reported at 7:55pm.

*And now the Nws radar in Springfield just went off line.

Mcdonald Co in Missouri has seen 4 seperate tornado warnings today. WOW....

Tornado spotted near the Springfield Airport ON THE GROUND... and so it begins:(

EDIT: Inadvertently posted nearly the same exact thing that Jordan did.

Gosh...I really hope that they've shut down I-44, hopefully all motorists in the area receive the warning one way or another. I know that in OK b/w OKC and TUL there are a few rest stops that serve as tornado shelters for motorists travelling I-44...anyone know of the procedure on the MO side of the border?

I've been listening to the stream from Springfield and no serious damage reports yet from the tornado emergency issued earlier, but now a possible tornado near the Springfield/Branson airport with the third cell to move through the city.

Edit: Image of the tornado near Monet, MO earlier from the NBC affiliate in Springfield:

Edit: Elementary school damaged in Republic, Mo but everyone appears to be ok. Unsure which of the cells was responsible.

EDIT: Yikes!!! I'm sure all air travellers have been ushered into the bathrooms by airport staff, but this is an EXTREMELY dangerous situation throughout the SWrn Missouri area.

Round 2 right over the house again. Sirens blaring again. What a crazy night.
Pea sized hail as the northern part of the storm went over my house, looks like the rotation went south of my house and is now headed NE.

On that marvelous stream link Heidi has been posting, just heard an update out of Webster County. Apparently there are many injuries in a number of locales, and an entire street has been leveled; cannot provide a specific location attm. The office mgr for webster cty sheriff (obviously) says they're super busy and she cannot get in touch with their deputies for an update, as they're doing rescue work. Reaally bad scence.

NWS rep on the line on that stream now.

EDIT: Ok. That rep. was Doug Kramer, and he mentioned things that we would expect him to. That the information is still coming in, and that we will know much more tomorrow. He mentioned that the Cassville area in Barry County is an area that they're currently most concerned about. Also the area near and north of Strafford has had the most reports of injuries, but he has no additional information and no information concerning fatalities. whew.
