• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

COMPLETE JUNE 11, 2007 STORM CHASE LOG CAN BE FOUND HERE!!!

Not long after being in the target area I saw this guy on the road, in far sw NE. I was wishing he was poisonous so I could just stick my hand out the window and get things over with, stupid pattern.

This was probably a decent looking LP nw of Ogallala. I was going to head up that way originally, but all the stuff firing to the south of it kept me from doing so, figuring this stuff would kill it off. The view was soon blocked by rain from my crapfest west of Ogallala. (Not good when you have to toss on a 100-400mm lens to shoot structure)

The southern cell of my crapfest decided it wanted to get better, but the cell firing to the south of it, sw of Imperial NE would hamper its inflow too. I stuck with this one too long, before dropping south to Imperial for that one.

View on east side of Imperial. Whenever you get a very slow moving storm that appears supercellular on radar, it'll often do what this one did. The inflow notch area was well sw of here, and I'm on the east side of the core. Well that east side will often begin to develop a base from all the outflow. Then it becomes a guessing game which side will be worth more, the old "main" area to the sw or w, which will verly likely be choked off soon(unless it can move, often south)....or the east side that might decide to plow east. My GR3 was doing some funny things at the worst time, not helping me decide since I couldn't see west of there yet. It wasn't updating for a long time, then when it did, it was updating 30 minute(or more) old images on and on. It would update me old images for probably 30 minutes. The east side kept looking more and more nasty but my option to drop south was right there. So I dropped south towards Benklemen to get a look at the old main area sitting over there. It looks like they typically look....not great. At least when they don't move and soon choke themsevles off. It wasn't long and the outflow push from hell surges on south. Show over!

My GR3 was now updating the right times. It was interesting just how long though it took for this outflow surge to appear on radar. I was already to Benklemen and heading east for home by the time it showed up.

I wish I had listened to myself and just stayed home. I was fully talked out of the chase until around noon when I said to myself, "Just stop thinking and get in the car and start driving."

Edit: Oh yeah almost forgot. The best part of the day were the anvil CGs occuring MANY miles east of the updraft bases. It seems like forever since I've seen them doing that, that often, that far out. It sort of sucks for filming as you have to leave the video camera pointed away from the structure to get them. I should have at least one good one. I was hoping to get one within a few feet, but it wasn't to be. I think it would have been fairly possible though, had I drove south a couple more miles then driven east with them. They were pretty confined in this line east of the storm, and they drifted east as the storm did. One of them must have had 10 return strokes with it.
