06/09/2009 NOW: KS/OK

Not sure what TV station got the video of the storm near Fort Scott but I do know Tyler Constantini was on that storm and is now on the TOR warned storm south of Pittsburg. He has been on air w/ several radio stations here while I sit stuck at work :(

Tyler and I were on the storms in SE Kansas, never saw any tornadoes or really anything that impressive as far as tornadoes. It was so rain wrapped that any tornado would have been obscured by rain.

Storm just went up West of DDC looks to be on the boundary. 83/61 ESE winds in DDC and 90/43 to the South in OK. Lets see if this can utilize the boundary. I would expect to see the train of chasers pulling out of ICT anytime now ;) Wish I was there :(

It appears the cell has utilized the boundary and is curving SE toward the Greensburg area. Still no TOR on as DDC has a great visual on it no doubt as the storm is probably still high based.

There's significant convergence if you take a look at base reflectivity. It's very close to the radar so relative velocity even at the lowest tilt won't provide much information, visually. The boundary orientation isn't favorable with SW mid-level flow but the storm seems to be extremely deviant to the right of the mean flow and is ingesting the warm air south of the boundary. Should be fun to watch!

Yes, it does indeed look interesting. As the storm moves away from the radar site, the 2nd tilt shows some good velocity and the overall shape of the storm suggests a hook may be coming into definition.

I have to agree that the DDC storm is the pick of the litter. That said, it looks like the CO front range is the winner of them all right now. A huge block of TOR warnings there which all fall outside the SLIGHT risk. Amazingly odd weather day.

Good day all,

Wow ... What a split on the animated radar with the DDC storm!

Stay with the southern cell in Ford County!

Good luck ... Wish I was out there with you guys...

i don't know if we need to add CO and NE to the title, but there have been several storms in these two states producing multiple funnel clouds for the last couple hours. these storms have been occuring in the nebraska panhandle and northeast colorado where capes are generally a 1000 j/kg or less ahead of a wind shift/cold front. recently there was a report of tornado on the ground sw of greely colorado.

The storms in the Denver area are producing little rope funnels. There has been one confirmed touchdown but no reports of damage SW of Greeley. If I were on a CO storm I would want to be on the one near Holyoke right now. Too bad I have a doctors appt in 30 minutes that I don't dare miss! Of all days!! Ugh! I feel Jason and Joeys pain.

Good day all,

DDC storm going north of Greensburg, KS by about 3-4 miles, cycling down a bit in intensity, but still has good rotation at 68 Knots.
