The NWS has posted a TORN Watch box for Central NE:

300 PM CDT TUE JUN 8 2004

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL NEBRASKA

EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 300 PM UNTIL 900 PM CDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

15-20knts at 300 and 500mb. Hmmmm. 35-40knts at 700mb. So maybe if things go more southerly with a good strong 700mb flow out of the south there is adequate shear and no need to look above 700mb? Tor box is a shock to me. Left hoping it goes to crap again as I can't get out there early enough basically. And I do not think it will be worth it...JINX. Is it Thursday yet?
