Seems like in the past hour that several supercells have exploded across these areas...there are several tornado warnings, and the NWS office in Wilmington has even reported seeing a tornado...here's a copy of the warning (below)

AT 857 PM EDT...A TORNADO WAS OBSERVED AT NWS WILMINGTON AT 848
PM. RADAR INDICATED THAT THE TORNADO PRODUCING STORM WAS LOCATED
NEAR NEW ANTIOCH...MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

Pretty crazy stuff going on...and what was a 5% risk for tornadoes from the SPC earlier in the day was downgraded to a 2%...

**EDIT: MODS...the date is incorrect in the title (it should be 05/30/09)...please feel free to update it**

Messed up bigtime by not going out today when it would've been a two hour drive. I will kick myself for for weeks. Starting to turn into a mcs. With the training will start to get worried about flooding.

Chip

edit: Also, this is very, very similar to the event of July 06. Almost exactly the same.
