Strong mesos and shear showing up on storm north of Columbus, MT. Sitting in Laurel waiting for storm to move into better road network... watching very closely...

Other storm developing immediately southwest of that storm and will run along I-90 as it moves east.

Both storms have turned more easterly in the last hour as they've developed... SPC mesoanalysis showing storms moving into favorable areas... new MD talking of several areas off interest in the region...

The storm to the north of Columbus has developed rotation and has become much more organized in the last few scans.

I'm currently nowcasting for the University of South Alabama Chase group. They are just E of Billings. Tony, you obviously have internet, but let me know if you need a nowcast update or two.

I'll pm you the #

HOLY COW! The storm that is very isolated up in NE MT is showing 75dbz. That is amazingly strong from a radar stand point. A bit more linear that the southern cell near Billings, but if any chasers are all the way up then stay away from the core!!!

Thunderstorms moving out of Montana into SW North Dakota and NW South Dakota are packing 65-75mph winds... perhaps the start of a derecho?
77mph peak just recorded at Buffalo, SD.
