00z and 12z Model Text Extraction

Long time, no post in here but I am looking for some help.

Does anyone know where I can find archived model text extractions for the NAM? Basically I am looking for 00z data each day but after the 12z run has already been complete. This means the extractions on bufkit sites and Earl Barker have already updated and 00z data is no longer available for viewing.

Any help is appreciated!

What exactly are you looking for? Bufkit soundings? Model data? Plots?

Model data would be the best but I could probably shuffle through bufkit data....

Need more information still, in order to help.

The NOMADS sites (http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/data and http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/) contain just about all archived model data you could ever need, but the data are almost all in GRIB or GRIB2 format, so you'd need the wgrib utility to do much with it.

The quickest/easiest way I've found of displaying GRIB files is IDV:

Model text extraction is what I am looking for. As in this from Earl Barkers site: http://68.226.77.253/text/NAM80km/NAM_ktol.txt

Mapping data isn't really what I need, really looking for the text versions if that is out there somewhere...

Gotcha. And now I know who you are - your location threw me for a bit since you didn't update

Nothing like that is easily available. You'd probably have to download the entire NAM archive for the run you want, and put it through something like GEMPAK. It can be done, just not easily. Better bet would be to run a script that hits the website 4x/day (or however you want) and saves to a local file.
