• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hi again, so I am no longer driving a 1992 Toyota paseo. I am now instead driving a 2001 nissan xterra (yea I have airbags now, ouch my gas mileage went down). I saw there was a thread where there was some discussion on the pros and cons of having an xterra, but I’d be interested in seeing how people have set up their equipment within them. I’m interested in seeing where people have put their inverters, laptops, radios, cords, etc. Pictures would be great! I’m basically trying to get some ideas on where to place my equipment within the vehicle.

Cheers,

Bobby

I took my jotto desk mounts down to the machine shop and the guy there bent them in a break and fitted them under the front seat bolts just like in my lincoln ( the jotto was first purchased for the Lincoln ).

Mounting everything into my vehicle seems a bit of a challenge. Now I realize that some guys have screwed camera mounts to the dashes and mounted scanners etc to the roof in the cab etc.. I have avoided all that and have no plans to jerry rig my vehicle. i may drill a whole for an antenna if needed but I found a mount that clamps onto the back hatch.

I was thinking of getting the new Uniden scanner and mounting it into the dash with a radio. The stock radio I have is large and I think there is a enough room to get a newer maybe even XM radio that is slimmer and the uniden bct15 or the fancier one and mount them both in there.

I have been broke lately due to the mortgage crisis ( work in the mtg industry ) so my spare cash has been non existant for about 6 months now : (

Just a few of my installs

I have a Kenwood TMV7 that has the remote head... it's installed overhead... and I replaced the stock radio with an aftermarket Pioneer and a scanner...

look up "wxrman" over on the XOC "Xterra Owners Club" website.

search in the "Noobs Nook" section... I have pics posted...

Not a lot of help, but it's what worked for me.

I use a tablet pc on a separate setup if I want to go mobile with GR2 or GR3... but I never get the chance, so it stays out.
