Outflow boundaries probably

If you look at the hourly mesoscale analysis page, you can determine that the boundary is south of that line you see developing in SE South Dakota in Nebraska and Iowa. There is just enough convergence ... likely along an outflow boundary, as Michael mentioned ... to promote some convection (pull up the convergence maps to see it).
