Wireless Internet in the plains.

I'm from indiana and have been to the plains on several chasing trips but i wasn't the leader with all the equipment. In a few weeks i'll be leading my own group for the first time. I'm looking to buy a wireless card for my laptop and i'm not exactly sure what wireless network is best to use in the plains. Anyone want help me out?

I'd buy a used verizon mobile broadband usb modem off ebay... you won't be obligated to a contract with verizon and can simply activity on a month to month basis. (this is what I did)

Otherwise you get stuck with a contract or an overpriced piece of hardware.
