Winter has been aggressive for my area lately. The Upper snake river plain has almost 2 feet of snow at the moment from 3-5 storms in the last week and a half. Convergence events have also been a huge culprit of all this snow and the worst has yet to be seen.

The Local NWS Pocatello's earlier forecast Mentioned a Possible Blizzard warning and Have issued just a Winter Storm Watch for now. Possible blizzard like conditions expected Saturday Night into Sunday with winds from 25-40mph with stronger gusts possible and 3-6 additional inches or even more. latest Models and Satellite trends indicate an intensifying storm. Currently the concern is for White Out conditions with Significant drifting of snow. Hazardous weather outlook stating if you have to travel that it is not recommended.

This could be a particularly very dangerous storm since this weekend alot of people will be returning home from Christmas vacation and Highway and road closures are expected to be widespread. I will be taking photos and documenting Via Video and will also be updating this thread if my Internet allows (wireless internet wont hold up I think) with white out conditions.

Will Follow up later this morning after the NWS updates there forecast and watches and warnings. Stay Tuned....

Blizzard warning in effect from 11pm tonight into Sunday evening. Main concern again is for Blowing snow with 25-40mph winds with gusts to 60mph. Not much snow expected from the storm, however the powder like snow will easily be drifted with the winds and will create white out conditions along with widespread road closures. The area for Blizzard warning will be the Upper Snake River plain and Upper Snake Highlands. Snake Valley has a winter storm warning also in effect from 11pm thru Sunday evening.

stay tuned.....
