Who else hunts Atmospheric optics?

While in Nova Scotia and New England back in September, I saw some of the brightest rainbows I have ever seen. Several doubles and one almost, trying to triple. The last one is unique to me as it was in between fogged in mountains and I could actually look down at it some.

Dim lunar fogbow from this morning, about 3 a.m. I think. It's near the road but hard to see in this one.

As fog thickened up it became a lot easier to see lol. They are pretty fickle deals. Can't be too much into any fog yet have to have a good bit of it with a clear shot of the moon above. Wish the moon angle had been lower but I'll take it. That is an almost vertical hill so that angle is really looking down with an ultrawide on. If you fall over that edge you will roll and or slide until you can grab enough grass...which made it kinda annoying trying to get(right where I'm at/left side it just goes down very steeply). But had the moon been anymore west well you'd not see one at all.

So amazing when it does this: http://www.extremeinstability.com/stormpics/2010/2010_07_31_06547.jpg It looks like your near a dang ocean, that or you are in the mountains. But no, it's a "bluff" like only about 300 feet higher than the Missouri river flats in western Iowa. Tricky to get the fog to "sea out" like that without getting too tall or just being less tall and thin and less interesting. It's been freaking impossible to get that to happen WITH a moon at the right phase/time of night/morning.

Crepuscular Rays

Some rays from the other night, the Anti-crepuscular Rays were quite intense. I actually captured the beam from horizon to horizon but haven't figured out how to stitch those into a pano.

The rays have been giving me quite a few photo ops the last week or so:

And this is something that has troubled me to no end trying to get them to stitch. The rays have been completely visible clear to the intersecting point in the East which has been much more rare than just seeing the rays in both the West and the East. This is an 11 shot panorama of the North side rays that were connected. This is the 180 degree plus view from West to East:

Here are a few more of mine. The 1st rainbow appeared while I was stuck in a muddy ditch while chasing in KS. The 2nd rainbow was on the island of Maui. The halo w/ the church bell tower was on Oahu.
