I understand NOW threads have been done away with and have merged with forecast threads but there is no discussion on today's evolving events. Are these discussions taking place anywhere? I loved to come on here on outbreak days and see which streamers have live tornadoes, etc. etc. Am I missing something or has the NOW type of discussion been unofficially turfed?

The answer to your question lies in the other new policies that have been adopted:
"To reinforce the quality of Target Area, it now requires approval. Access is off by default. You may obtain access in your User Groups panel. An administrator will review your request and if approved will grant access. Also there has been a restructuring of Target Area -- see the rules in that forum."

"Effective 5/23/11 we have reinstated the 48-hour curfew on current weather events outside of Target Area. I had hoped to loosen a number of restrictions on weather posts, this being among them, but based on the posts that have appeared this week it become clear to me that this was an effective rule that did not need to be changed. Therefore, all meteorological discussion about an event will need to occur in Target Area unless 48 hours has passed. The sole exception is in the Introductory Weather & Chasing forum, where beginners are not expected to adhere to our more stringent rules."

Not very many people can post in the Target Area now, and current discussion is prohibited in the Advanced Forum. Only place to do it now is the Introductory Forum, and I guess nobody really wants to do it here.

Yeah, I thought the Introductory Forum would have plenty of people to give real time updates on unfolding events, that is why I was confused...guess not, maybe I'll contribute!
