• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

The last 2 days have been extremely cold here in Southeast Idaho. Last night we had a low of -20 with wind chill values of 30-40 below. The sliding doors that go to our backyard deck had a solid sheet of ice on them on the inside. My 2 cats that live outside had there whiskers freeze and for awhile I was really concerned till I saw them in the Morning laying in the sun playing. I dont see how animals can live thru this stuff. When I go outside and breathe it feels like my Mustache and nose hairs literally freeze in seconds. lol.

Whats the coldest Temperature for you guys so far?

The coldest it's been so far was actually just a few days ago. Bottomed out at -11 Sunday morning. I think the coldest windchill so far was just the day before that on Saturday, when it was down in the -25 range.

A few weeks ago, it was 23 degrees at Jacksonville Int'( KJAX), and 28 at NAS Jacksonville(KNIP) on the banks of the St. Johns River. Thats was when I was at home in Murfreesboro, TN. The morning of the 2nd, we bottomed out at 5 degrees, and Nashville hit 11, with a high, a HIGH of only 25 that day, with 25mph winds, felt near 0 all day!

We were in the upper teens last night. This past few days has been the coldest shot of air southern OK has seen all Winter.

As Slovenia is not as cold as some of your States, my record is only -2°F in calm air. But I respect the cold that I experienced 3 years ago on one mountain peak...it was -12°C (10°F) with measured wind gusts around 160km/h (100mph)...so you can imagine what an insane windchill it was :D Likely around -33°C (-25°F).

Well its starting to warm up. The low off of southern California is pushing the Flow to Southwesterly. Should be a little warmer after tommorow. I am shocked that so far out of 7 people that my area has been the coldest. i am guessing because of the market The Weather channel just doesnt talk about my area. I am sure my Area could have hit a few headlines this winter so far. Owell.

Stay Warm out there,.

At my house NW of Leadville the coldest we have had so far is -25F on Jan. 17. I guess this is average for a winter, but we were hoping that it would get colder that night. This did come during a relatively cold spell. We had 3 days in a row with at least -20F and 13 days in a row with sub zero low temps.

Can't hang with you Eskimo's to our north but as Shane said, we got pretty cold here in Central OK last night with a 15 degree reading at the Norman Mesonet site at 5:55am. That is the coldest thus far this year and overnight tonight is supposed to be around 14. I'm ready for summer.

Wow, that sounds really cold for MO. How unusual is that for your area?

My low so far this winter is 10F. Not all that impressive. In the past 5 years we typically see 0-5F for the coldest of the season.

I've been watching sfc obs quite a bit lately trying to judge if it will be worth going out for river + ice + steam shots in the morning. It's a strange combo to me for some reason. I thought the station in sw IA was just off till I found another one with a similarly low low temp. One night it was -20F in far sw IA before midnight. This was at the Gravity IA station. Clarinda just west of there was -15F I believe. So I'd certainly believe that -17 in nw MO.

Anyway, the lowest around here has been -15F in Tekamah NE. I think tomorrow morning has a shot of beating it. RUC has been spitting out some very cold readings for western IA tonight. Showing -20 for nw IA at only 2 a.m. As the high sinks south, so will that cold cold air. Someone around here should get to -20. I may be wrong but it seemed that Omaha's all time record low was -22F. That shouldn't be in jeopardy but the low areas could see that.

Guess Omaha's record low is -32, not -22.
