What type of cloud do you think this is?

What type of cloud do you think this is with limited information. This storm moved near Joplin producing some hail. There are some people stating this was a funnel. My son and I disagree. I have chased other storms and clearly could define a funnel but this does not look like one to me. Maybe a cold-core funnel at best? I personally think this is the base of the storm where it originally began. Any thoughts?

This happened on Sunday morning as the weakening line of storms rolled into Missouri from Kansas.

Forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong place. I thought this would be an educational for me since I am not sure what I might be seeing here.

It looks like a decaying updraft to me... We often see this when surface-based supercells, for example, fall victim to a cap that's strong enough to inhibit surface parcels from rising to the LFC. I don't know anything about this particular event (haven't looked at any maps or radar data), but it looks like such an instance to me.

Jeff I was able to find another cloud photo and two radar images if that helps. The radar image that is zoomed in, is about the time frame when novices starting contemplating it to be a (wall cloud) funnel.

Now surface based storms in a warm front are in the warm region below the front, correct?

If you can pm me a private email i can get you a better image of whats taking place. I can't figure out how to upload pics on here. Assuming your talking about 6-26-11 that is.

Edited: Nevermind. I think i seen that on the first storm that came through, although they both died quickly in the same area and Jeff is correct. Here is a link to the 2nd one that came through right behind it. http://nwahomepage.com/mymedia/view-pictures-and-video?v=qHv6161raG82d
